ABOUT ME
Malina "Mali" Simone Bacon is the Co-Founder & Creative Director of GANGGANG, a cultural development firm transforming the arts landscape in Indianapolis. A Ball State University graduate, she previously led initiatives at the Arts Council of Indianapolis and Madame Walker Legacy Center. In 2020, she co-founded GANGGANG with her husband Alan Bacon, securing substantial funding to bolster, support, and develop the cultural sector. Her notable projects include curating the historic "We. The Culture" at Newfields, launching BUTTER fine art fair, and co-founding "I Made Rock 'N' Roll," an initiative that honors Black artists' contributions and authorship of the genre. Recognized by Inc. and Fast Company, Mali serves as board member of Visit Indy’s Tourism Tomorrow, Big Car and the St. Richard’s Episcopal School Foundation and was named among Indiana's Top 250 business leaders. She's an Alpha Kappa Alpha member, Stanley K. Lacy Leadership Series graduate, and passionate advocate for economic justice in the arts. Mali is active in her church community, is a writer, wife, daughter, and Mommy.
