ABOUT ME

Dr. Joy Usigbe serves as the Senior Community Leadership Officer for Health at the Indianapolis Foundation, where she champions equity-driven initiatives that address social determinants of health throughout Indianapolis and Marion County. She holds a Doctor of Public Health in Executive Leadership and Global Health from the Indiana University Fairbanks School of Public Health, a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the Indiana University School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Medical Sociology from Indiana University Indianapolis. Dr. Usigbe brings deep expertise in population health, strategic leadership, and systems transformation.

She has held pivotal roles within the local public health department, leading data-informed strategies to strengthen community health and health systems. As a dedicated educator and mentor, she has taught college-level courses in health sciences research, community health, and global health.

In 2022, Dr. Usigbe founded the Osezele Foundation to address health-related social needs and promote economic empowerment on a global scale. Her leadership spans both local and international platforms, reflecting an unwavering commitment to service, equity, and community advancement.
