DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL QUALITY AND ADVANCEMENT
HEALTH CARE EDUCATION AND TRAINING
ABOUT ME
Cara Berg Raunick, a nurse practitioner, is the Director of Clinical Quality and Advancement at Health Care Education and Training (HCET), a public health nonprofit focused on reproductive and sexual health, adolescent health, and trauma-informed care. She maintains a clinical practice through IU Health in Indiana's statewide contraceptive access project, PATH4YOU. She also serves as the Director of the Midwest Trauma-Informed Training Center at HCET. Using and advocating a trauma-informed approach has been central to her philosophy of care since early in her career when she worked as a certified sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) at the Cleveland Clinic. She teaches frequently in community, academic and professional settings on various women’s health and trauma-informed care topics.
In the community, she serves on the board of trustees at Sycamore school, attends the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, chairs the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana’s Women in Healthcare Giving Collaborative, and is an ambassador for Summer Stock Stage. She was a proud member of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series (SKL XLV), Women’s Fund of Central Indiana’s OPTIONS class 16, the inaugural class of Hoosier Women Forward, and the John Mutz Philanthropic Leadership Institute.
Cara grew up in Ann Arbor, MI, received her BS in applied health sciences from Indiana University Bloomington, and her master and doctorate in nursing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband and daughter.
