FOUNDER AND PRINCIPAL

UBUNTU PLANNING STUDIO

ABOUT ME

Britt Redd is an urban planner, educator, and strategist working to transform city planning into a practice of community-led change. She is the founder of Ubuntu Planning Studio, where she leads projects that center shared history, collective care, and creative possibilities as foundations for sustainable development.

With 14 years of experience across public, nonprofit, and academic sectors, Britt has led policy-shaping initiatives and launched Indianapolis’ first planning-based artist-in-residence program. She also develops public trainings that help neighbors understand, engage with, and shape the future of their communities. As an educator, she has taught courses in environmental justice, architectural research methods, and planning theory at Ball State University, and co-developed a graduate seminar in radical planning at the University of Michigan.

She has been recognized nationally through fellowships with Next City, the University of Michigan’s College of Architecture and Planning, and Transportation for America. Britt holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Ball State University and a BA in International Studies from Butler University. She is currently pursuing an Executive Master of Nonprofit Administration at the University of Notre Dame.
