Since joining United Way of Central Indiana (UWCI) as its President & CEO in 2013, Ann D. Murtlow has paved the way to the “New U” – a bold, community impact strategy focused on making positive, sustainable change in the areas of Education, Income, Health and Basic Needs. Under Ann’s leadership, UWCI has made significant progress in aligning programs, community partnerships, direct service agencies and public policy advocacy around data-driven community goals.
Prior to United Way of Central Indiana, Ann served as an AES Corporation executive and president & CEO at Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) where she became one of the few female chief executives in the electric utility industry. She is a director of First Internet Bank, Great Plains Energy and Wabash National Corporation. She also served as a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago from 2007 to 2012. Ann received her Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Lehigh University in 1982. She is a National Association of Corporate Directors Board Leadership Fellow.
