In her role as Senior Vice President and Chief Market Development Officer for The National Bank of Indianapolis, Ms. Merkel is responsible for cultivating and maintaining high profile corporate, individual and community relationships. Ms. Merkel is a founding member of The National Bank of Indianapolis. Her banking career encompasses more than 30 years of providing Commercial, Private Banking and Nonprofit Banking services to corporations, individuals and charitable organizations in the greater Indianapolis area. She earned a B.S. Degree in Accounting and Finance from Purdue University, Krannert School of Management. Ms. Merkel has served on the Boards of Directors for a variety of nonprofit organizations and currently serves the American Pianist Association, Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, Fairbanks, Renaissance Charitable Foundation, Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, Ivy Tech Community College and United Way of Central Indiana. She is a Sagamore of the Wabash, a graduate of the United Way Executive Women’s Leadership Series and the Stanley K. Lacy Leadership Development Series.
