Marisol Gouveia is Director of Membership & Engagement at the Indianapolis Zoo. She earned her degree in Classical Civilizations from Howard University, and began her career as a copy editor at The Indianapolis Star. 

She serves on the boards of Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center, Little Flower Neighborhood Association, Purdue Extension – Marion County and the Board of Zoning Appeals Division III, on the auxiliary board of Partners in Housing, and advisory council of Young Nonprofit Professionals Network Indy. Marisol is a member of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series Class XLI, an Exchange Leadership Fellow at the Indianapolis Urban League (2016-2017), and was selected as one of United Way of Central Indiana’s 100 Heroes. She is a native of Trinidad and Tobago, a gardener and an art appreciator committed to serving the city that has become her home.
