Garrett Mason is a career public servant with a passion for organizational excellence. Currently, he serves as the Strategic Planning and Assessment Officer at the Indianapolis Public Library where he is responsible for organizational performance and strategic alignment. Garrett uses his passion for data to create efficient processes as well as a strong culture of data-driven decision making so that the Library can have a greater community impact. Prior to his current role, Garrett did similar work for the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, Indiana Department of Transportation, and the Indiana Department of Child Services. He has collaborated with the non-profit Overdose Lifeline, worked closely with the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative, and co-authored an award-winning analysis of crime victimization and service gaps in Indiana. He hopes to use his time in San Antonio to improve his understanding of what cities can do better, and to continuously improve The Library’s partnerships and impact in Indianapolis.
